Mount Hope Bay Model yacht club

The club was started by a small group of residents of the Village at Mount Hope Bay in 2007 to build and sail Soling 1-meter radio-controlled model sailboats. The mission was, and still is, to have some fun through friendly competition.

In 2019 we added a second class of boat: the DragonFlite 95.

Over the years, interest in Soling racing has declined and DF95shave gained in popularity.  DF95s race on Tuesdays with the following Thursday as a weather day.  They race on the tidal, saltwater cove at the end of Schooner Drive in Tiverton. Racing starts promptly at 11.00.

Solings are not completely forgotten and race in at least one regatta per season at dates which will be announced on our website mhbmyc.org under “Racing Details”

Please come and join us on the shore, try your hand and you may find that you’d like to know more.  What you will find is a funloving group that is friendly, helpful, and of all levels of skills.

We are registered with the American Model Yachting

Association, number 257.
